Next 24 Hours - Sens. Harkin & Hatch to Introduce Senate ADA Amendments Act

This morning, Senator Harkin announced on a call-in for grassroots advocates organized by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights that he and Senator Hatch (R-UT) intend to introduce a Senate version of the ADA Amendments Act before the Senate recess. It is likely that this will occur in the next 24 hours. Senator Harkin assured advocates on the call that the Senate bill builds upon the House ADA Amendments Act (which passed the House overwhelmingly in June by a 402-17 vote) in a way that maximizes bipartisan consensus and minimizes unintended consequences. On the call, Harkin expressed confidence that the Senate bill will enjoy the same strong bipartisan support as the House bill did.

As soon as the Senate bill is introduced, we will share that text over JFA.
